The Champlain Maternal Newborn Regional Program (CMNRP) is an regional program, whose goal is to improve perinatal and newborn care in Ontario Health East (East Region – Ontario Health). CMNRP provides leadership and support for the coordination, planning and delivery of quality perinatal and newborn health services in Ontario Health East.  CMNRP collaborates with health care providers, leaders and organizations on many initiatives at the regional, provincial and national level.

CMNRP (previously PPPESO – Perinatal Partnership Program of Eastern & Southeastern Ontario) was founded by CHEO, The Ottawa Hospital and Kingston Health Sciences Centre and formally established in 2010. Since then, a network of health service providers and organizations across the region have been working together on key regional initiatives to provide families with better access to high quality perinatal health services. Our regional program supports the provision of consistent, standardized and evidence-informed care and  appropriate, timely access to clinical services at the right level of care, along the continuum from pregnancy to the postnatal period.

The CMNRP team consists of a Regional Director, Medical Leads, an Executive Administrative Host (CHEO), a team of Perinatal Consultants, and a Senior Administrative Assistant.

The extended CMNRP network includes representatives from hospitals, midwifery practice groups, public health units, community health centres, a birth centre and other community agencies that provide perinatal and newborn services.
